Site Info

As an experiment, I wanted to see if I could write a relatively complex dynamic site (blog) that did not rely on any CSS classes for styling. This has been achieved by using Perch’s infinitely customizable templating system and would not have been possible using Wordpress which – even with a lot of reengineering – still insists on generating its own markup, with prescribed classes.

To retain the dynamic XML sitemap functionality enjoyed by installing a Wordpress plugin, I used custom templating in combination with a little htaccess to make an XML sitemap for my blog content. I even wrote an article on how to achieve this: http://www.heydonworks.com/article/a-perch-xml-sitemap
